Judge Roy Moore's Battle with Goliath
Book By John Emfinger
John Emfinger, 8118 Pinto Lane, Montgomery, Alabama 36117
The Capitol was only forty miles up Highway 110 from Union Springs where I was born in 1955. I lived there until I graduated from high school in 1973, with several sojourns through the years since then. Past the Ballerina, Thompson Station, Fitzpatrick, Cecil, and nothing but pastures and cows the rest of the way to the bypass, I guess, but to be honest I do not remember a bypass in my earlier years. Smirk if you will, you cynics, but downtown Montgomery was something like the Magical Kingdom for a Bullock County boy those days. It was full of wonders like H. L. Green, S. H. Kress and Woolworth's. The greatest wonders, though, were those of gleaming white buildings of state government and the thought that right up there were all those famous people you saw on Channel 12. Of course, I did not have a clue what they did in those buildings back then, but the Capitol and environs were always a real presence in my life. Later, and interest in current affairs kept it a presence, though I was not a serious student of politics and was very naïve about the whole matter. I thought all men were like my daddy, a truly great man, unexcelled in character and my hero. I was a gullible idealist. I suppose you were always to clever and worldly-wise for such foolishness. Before you get to proud, though, I call on Churchill to give his testimony. He said something to this effect: If a man is not a compassionate idealist when he is twenty, he does not have a heart. If he is not a conservative realist at forty, he does not have a brain. Somewhere through the years, I went from casually interested to a seriously concerned citizen. I made it my business to find what really went on underneath the headlines. What I discovered sobered and incensed me. The result is this book. I have no desire to just interest or just inform you. I want to incite you past being concerned and bring you into indignation. Without passion to propel us out of complacency, nothing will ever be done about the larceny that special interest has committed against the people of Alabama by stealing their democracy. Judge Roy Moore BookThere is a reason for publishing this book at this particular time. Such an extraordinary problem as special interest requires an exceptional remedy, and I believe that Judge Roy Moore is that remedy. I am aware that there are some who do not agree with me, but I ask for the privilege of hearing in defense of Judge Moore. Hear what, I have to say and then make your decision.ROY MOORE'S BATTLE WITH GOLIATH
